The Beginning of a New Adventure
After four months, I have begun to truly get into the Second Life® experience.
When I first explored the world, I had a friend, Chelsea Sodertlege, show me around. It was probably a better introduction than something like Orientation Island would have been. She gave me a little money to get started, showed me some cool shopping, let me look around her private island. But then life and a mild depression drew me away from everything and I never came back.
Until now.
I talked a couple other friends into joining me, as well — Adrianne Khandir and Beatlejessie Muircastle — and we spent the first night shopping and exploring. It was fun. I added some more modern outfits to the renaissance gowns I’d purchased before. We didn’t get to do too much exploring. But, I got to show B.M. around Dublin a bit. I like Dublin, especially the fact that it looks so much like it’s real world counterpart. And we found an interesting R.P. area, although we didn’t get to explore much before the others had to call it a night.
After the girls left I wandered about some on my own, finally landing on Bunny Blvd. I was drawn there by a bookshop, which turned out not to have anything I was interested in. But then I was invited to sit in on the last little bit of a discussion event at the coffeeshop next door, which was fun. It was a secret telling event. Even though I didn’t have any secrets to share, it was nice to just feel included by people not previously met in real life.
Exploring a little on my own the next night, I discovered the botanical gardens. I am amazed at how detailed and creative some of these regions are. If I had more money, I’d build one of my own. But, I can barely afford the land I do have.
Later B.M. and I also visited a couple art museums and found some funky clothing shops. Both of us are very into just exploring and seeing what’s available to do in-world right now.
